Day 103

Projects at home and at school.

At school we are studying homes... ant homes... we learned all about them by watching this ant farm (it was fascinating even for me). On Tuesday we made these grotesque ant cookies out of crushed oreos, cream cheese, dipping chocolate, and licorice. It actually tasted pretty good... but yuck.





At home I made these table runners for my mom and sister. I also made this early X-mas gift bag for Sarah because I wanted to give it to her in person.

Day 102

For a little outdoor fun, we took Mollie for a hike at Mt. Greylock on Saturday. We found a nice path, until it headed uphill... a never-ending uphill. Eventually we just turned around. Then it was downhill... a slippery ride of a downhill in fresh snow.

Day One Hundred

Thanksgiving snow fun with my two favorite boys.


How wonderful to watch these two amazing young men play together in 6 inches of fresh snow. Willy hardly knew what snow or sledding was, but sure had fun.


I think Todd had as much fun as Willy.


Sledding. Making snow angels. Throwing snow at each other. Eating the snow.


The glorious white stuff made it feel more like Christmas, but we only convinced Willy to go back inside by talking about the turkey and pie.

Day Ninety-Eight

Thanksgiving

In this year, we have so, so much to be grateful for.
I am grateful for peace in my life, in my heart, and in my mind.
I am grateful for food and warmth.
I am grateful for my health and happiness, and that of my family.
I am grateful for 15 shiny faces that greet me each day.
I am grateful for Mollie dog and all her kisses.
I am grateful for friends and family and all the love that surrounds me.







There is so much wonderfulness in my life.

Day Ninety-Six

Gobble Gobble

My mom and sister are puking... and I am cookity-cooking to get ready for the big meal tomorrow. The big meal that maybe not everyone will enjoy. The best part is that I am only in charge of the appetizers. Pumpkin bread. Artichoke dip. Roasted garlic and goat cheese yummies.



Meanwhile Todd and I are drinking sports drinks and taking vitamins hoping the bug leaves us alone. We are sterilized. We came home and took showers and washed our clothes.

Oh, but those kids were soooo cute today.

Day Ninety-Three

Crafty week-end



I have done little this week-end except huddle over my sewing machine. Once I am on a roll and things start to get finished it is hard to stop myself!



I can't reveal any of my secrets but here are a few photos of the process.



We had dinner at mom and dad's last night and then caught up on my scrapbooking. I am feeling the need for some new inspiration, but it is fun. It is all very addictive.

Day Eighty-Seven

We just had a fabulous week-end of fun.
Todd and I drove over to Boston, which is a much faster ride when you have company.
We visited with Erin and Chris on Saturday afternoon, trapsing through Harvard Square window shopping and chatting.
We met there beautiful cat, Little Kitty, and had a mellow afternoon.
We then went to Erin's show that night and enjoyed her production of a Midsummer Night's Dream. We were grateful for the synopsis preview or we may have been totally lost.

We slept at Nina and John's that night, crashing in the living room and waking up to the sounds of Grace's cuteness upstairs.
Nina and John fixed us a yummy breakfast and we just got to enjoy good company with Kevin and the Gilbert family.

Day Seventy-Nine

Long week.
Short week-end.

It was a long week at school. Wednesday felt like Friday. Thursday felt like Friday. Friday felt like Friday and I was so grateful that it finally was...

This week-end has been a fun and beautiful one. Weather doesn't get more perfect than this. 70 degrees and sunny. Cool fall crispness and cooler evenings.

Yesterday Todd and I took a short road trip to Woodstock. Neither of us had been there before and it was worth the drive. Cute shops. Good indian dinner. Fun fabric. Small gifts.

I have also have the luck to write 16 report cards this week-end. Now that is fun. Writing everything you can think of as PC as I can get. Its quite an exercise... I have three more to go. One last haul, but I needed a break.

I took a nice break earlier today... sat in the sun with a glass of cider, Mollie, and a good book. Very satifying relaxation. Now, its already getting dark... The week-end is coming to a close... and I am gearing up for the week ahead. I can atleast be glad that it is only a 4 day week.
