Self Portrait Tuesday:Time

What better way to record time in March in New England than to look at the weather?

Day 218

Happy birthday to me.

I threw a party for myself at school today. We made cupcakes and sang and had a good ole time. Todd spoiled me too... post to follow.

I feel so incredibly blessed.

Day 216

Week-end fun

I spent some time finishing up a gift that should hit the mail this week... and then worked on making two belts- one for me and one for my cousin Chelse, who just turned 21. Matching green stripes... far from perfect, but I think they are kind of cute.

In celebration of my upcoming birthday, mom and dad took Todd and I out to brunch today. We went to the Dakota and ate more than three plates of omelettes, salad, and waffles. Yum. Way overfull, but once in a while you have to indulge. My sis sent this aerosmith shirt from chicago- 1978 concert tour (my birth year). W also have some history of being aerosmith fans... after front row seats many years ago. :-)

Dad picked this belt out for me, too. Cuter than the one I made, but I am willing to practice! Now I just need to get myself some clothes to coordinate.

Day 213

An apple for the teacher

I deserve one today! Our museum of Eric Carle style work went off without a hitch and looked amazing. We toured groups of students through and shared our stories.

"Please do not touch the things that we made because we worked very hard on them. Please ask in the K-1's."

"Do not touch!!!! Even if you are curious!!!!"

A beautiful, succesful moment to savor as a teacher.

SPT

This months challenge is time... taking a photo everyday. I struggled with how to do this but then I decided to just go for it without trying to be too crazy creative. I decided to go with my daily prevailing emotions.

Wed. March 1st
Guilty. For the first time ever the library had to call me to ask me to return my books. How humiliating.

Thurs. March 2nd
Crazy. My kids were absolutely off the wall today. I was yelling by 9:15- and I don't yell. In math, when I told them we were going to tackle a difficult problem, I had one boy jump and tackle another. Then I was ready to scream.

Friday, March 3rd
Skinny. If that can count as an emotion. I feel skinny.

Saturday, March 4th
Silly. Giddy to have a week-end day all for me, me, me.

Sunday, March 5th
Pouty. Cranky. I hate the inevitable return to work on Monday morning.

Monday, March 6th. Healthy. I am feeling good after a week on tea and off coffee. Lunches are almost totally constructed of fruits and veggies. Mmmmm.... Mmmmm...

Tuesday, March 7th

Happy... and a little off balance in the brain. American Idol is on tonight. Things are starting to settle back down. Life is almost back to a bearable norm.

Day 200, assessment

Check-In Report

I had a lot of goals for today, and I have to say that I did pretty well.

After curling up cozy with a book, I took a nice little nap.

I had a nice big cup of cocoa when I woke up. After reading a bit more, I was ready for some dinner.
A yummy, yummy spinach salad topped with strawberries and pecans.

Now I am cozied up, hoping to stay awake to watch the project runway that I haven't seen yet. (ten o'clock is too late on a week-day, tonight its on at 11.)
The only goal I didn't meet was that I have now finished up a three-item to-do list. Only three though, so I did okay. :-)

Day 200

It is Saturday and I had to go to work.
Professional development.
It was at least worth while and I left with a head full of swimmy ideas.
Now I need a week-end.
A hard-deserved week-end.
I plan to:
1. Take a nap.
2. Drink hot chocolate.
3. Curl up and watch a movie.
4. Eat a yummy dinner.
5. Stay warm and cozy.
6. Think of anything other than my to do list.
I will let you know how my goals progress as the day continues.
